Almost seven out of every ten office workers in the UK would prefer to do their job from home, according to recent research by Cornhill Direct.
The financial services provider reveals that one in five office professionals are convinced that working from home would enable them to become more efficient due to a perceived lack of distractions.
Furthermore, around a fifth of such staff indicated during a recent survey that they would be willing to take a pay cut if it meant they had the option to work outside the office.
Ahead of the National Work From Home Day in the UK, which gets underway on Friday May 18th, Cornhill Direct is advising those Britons who already work from home to ensure they have appropriate insurance cover.
Mark Bishop, spokesman for Cornhill Direct, said: "Home workers do need to consider the insurance implications because equipment used for commercial purposes may not be adequately covered or covered at all by a standard home insurance policy, particularly if removed from the home."
Work Wise UK is behind the upcoming national home working event and the not-for-profit organisation can count BT, the Confederation of British Industry and the Trades Union Congress among its strategic and supporting partners.
