People working at home may be interested to hear that a new device allowing them to share and stream content for different computers at home, has been launched onto the market.
The Verbatim MediaShare Home Network Server is a network storage box which allows home users to stream and access their content on one device, wherever they are in the house.
The device will allow different users on different computers to access files or play music, for example, at the same time. It also offers a web portal that allows users to upload and share photo albums directly from the server to social networking sites.
There's also an 'easy transfer button', which allows a user to transfer files they have from a portable hard drive, flash drive or memory card straight into the box.
As any homeworker knows, backing up work is crucial and the MediaShare Home Network Server has this covered. Its backup capabilities, working with Apple Time Machine or Windows Backup, keeps content located on a network computer backed up.
The server works with Windows 7, Vista, XP Home or Pro, 2000, and Mac OSX. A 1TB version is available at £150, while a 2TB version will set you back £200.
