A full 65 per cent of British workers would appreciate the opportunity to do their jobs from outside the traditional office environment, according to a recent study.

Research carried out by YouGov on behalf of T-Mobile also showed that close to half (48 per cent) of Britons feel that by working outside the office they could be more productive on a day-to-day basis.

Furthermore, around 46 per cent of those polled said that by working from home or from another out-of-office location they would be able to establish a better work-life balance.

Derek Williamson, head of business marketing at T-Mobile UK, commented: "The ability to change locations, or work from home when appropriate, can enhance productivity, motivation levels and general wellbeing.

"Providing staff with the right technology and services to work effectively on the move means they can gain inspiration from new surroundings and make better use of unproductive deadtime."

Research carried out by Logicalis recently suggested that the many of the UK’s teenagers expect to be able operate remotely when they enter the workplace.
