Thousands of small business bosses in the UK want the capability to operate from outside their offices and could benefit from remote working technology, according to a report from BT.
Making the case for its Office Anywhere solution, which can enable home-based working, BT points to its own research that found owners and directors of small firms take less time off each year than high-level staff at larger companies.
The majority of small company bosses indicated that they take relatively little time off because they are concerned about not being in touch with their office, a problem BT is convinced its technology can solve.
"It is understandable that small business owners and directors feel the need to be around 100 per cent of the time to make crucial decisions so that the business they’re so passionate about can thrive," said Bill Murphy, managing director of BT Business.
"We’re equally passionate about delivering communications solutions that help them do what they do best, wherever they want to do business."
BT recently revealed that it is to supply home-working connectivity solutions for around 1,200 employees of the Unilever company in Germany.
