An independent travel agency is set to recruit a network of homeworkers over the course of the next 12 months.
Kettering-based Affinion Travel is one of the largest independent firms in its sector in the UK. It already has a 150-strong call centre in Kettering but is now looking to expand by employing more people as homeworkers.
Mark Mitchell, the firm's commercial and product director for travel, told Travel Weekly: “We are still expecting to hit our numbers and it's going exactly to plan. It's completely realistic to expect between 50 and 100 homeworkers to be recruited in the next 12 months to support the new business we are about to win.”
He added that the company will grow “quite considerably and quickly” once it has the new staff needed and a plan is in place to double the size of the company within the next 12 months.
Mr Mitchell also noted that having some employees who are based at home will help the company to improve its flexibility in regards to customer service because it will enable a faster response time.
Affinion Travel is looking to recruit homeworkers with a minimum of two years' experience for call servicing. They can expect to receive a fixed basic salary as well as commission on sales and the other benefits enjoyed by office-based staff.
