Working from home is so desirable that employees would be willing to take a pay cut in order to enjoy the luxury of flexible working.
This is according to research from MomCorps, which revealed that 42 per cent of those surveyed would trade some of their salary for flexibility at work. However, when it was narrowed to see if the employees would be willing to give up more than ten per cent of their salary in exchange for flexibility, a clear gender divide was revealed. In fact, with 12 per cent of men were found to be willing to make the change, compared to just six per cent of women.
Meanwhile, the study also found that the younger generation (those aged between 18 and 34) is up to three times as likely to give up the pay in return for the option to work from home or enjoy flexible hours.
As an increasing number of people are starting to consider the flexibility of a role before even applying. This could prompt more companies to research the benefits of offer from allowing people to work flexible hours from home or the office.
