Enabling employees to carry out their work from home can enhance a business’ level of productivity, Work Wise UK has made clear ahead of National Work From Home Day, which is due to take place on Friday May 18th.
The aim of the event is to demonstrate to companies from across the country that allowing for out of office working can bring a competitive business edge, while also potentially improving the wellbeing of staff members.
"Smarter working practices revolutionise the way people work and lead to increased business productivity and competitiveness," a statement from Work Wise UK explained.
In addition, the organisers of the upcoming National Work From Home Day maintain that "smarter working" can help to reduce traffic congestion on British roads and enable employees to "harmonise" their professional and family commitments.
Work Wise UK operates as a not-for-profit initiative aiming to make the British economy the most "progressive" in the world and has the backing of the Confederation of British Industry.
Around 11 per cent of the British workforce currently work from home or in a variety of different locations, according to Work Wise UK’s assessment of relevant data.
