A mother who operates her own company from home is celebrating her sixth successful year in business, it has been revealed.
Linda Blanco explains that she did not want to choose between her career and being a parent and so set up her own firm to ensure she did not have to make a compromise.
And the business she decided to set up, dubbed Tri County Moms, aims to give other women in a similar situation the chance to earn a living while also bringing up a child.
Operating from home and at times that are more flexible enables many parents to get the kind of work-life balance they are looking to achieve, suggests Ms Blanco.
"I am celebrating my six years of a healthier lifestyle and looking forward to my seventh," she said.
In Britain, the Work Wise UK initiative is aiming to encourage businesses to allow their staff to operate more flexibly in the interest of both employer and employee.
