A worldwide study carried out by Cisco has revealed that physical workspaces are on their way out, to be replaced by working from home.
The study, which focused on respondents from 13 different countries, including America, the UK, Japan, Australia and Italy, found that two out of three workers felt that they no longer needed to work in an office in order to be productive.
Two out of three workers also said that they would choose flexible jobs that allowed home working over higher-paying jobs which required working in an office.
Ninety-per cent of Indian workers believed they were more productive whilst working at home, followed by eighty-one per cent of Chinese workers and 76 per cent of Brazilian employees.
American group Icono Culture's India Editor Sumaa Tekur found working at home preferable to travelling into an office each day. "I can break my day into parts more comfortable for me. This way I have much more control of my life.
"I am far more productive when I am in charge of my time. There is no time wasted commuting, being stuck in traffic, etc. I can take breaks when I want, too," she added.
