Even Royalty needs to take it easy every so often and it looks like the Queen is doing just that and working from home for the next few weeks.

The Queen cancelled a number of engagements last week due to symptoms of gastroenteritis but this week it looked like she was back on form attending the signature of the Commonwealth Charter on Monday.

However, reports from Hello! Magazine now confirm that she has cancelled the rest of her engagements and will be working from home at Buckingham Palace for the rest of the week.

A statement from the palace explained that the Queen "hopes to resume her programme of official engagements next week", but that for now she will "continue with her usual rhythm of business" from home in order to help her make the best recovery.

Doctors are said to be monitoring the Queen's health closely and no doubt will be finding it easier to do so from the comfort of the palace.

Her Majesty remains in good spirits, however, and was photographed sharing a joke with John Agard while presenting him with her Gold Medal for Poetry earlier this week.
