A new development of homes in Bedford are being aimed at the increasing number of people who find themselves working from home.
The 3, 4 and 5-bedroom homes on the Kingswood Park development in the town are designed to offer extra study space for those whose employers are embracing the benefits that flexible working can provide.
John Lougher, managing director of developers, Lagan Homes, said they hoped to offer a little more flexibility in a desirable environment.
“The benefits of working from home, even occasionally, are now widely accepted. Not only does it reduce the amount of commuting people have to do, enhancing their work-life balance, but many are actually more productive," he said.
“At our Kingswood Park development in Bedford, our homes are designed to offer purchasers the flexibility and space to work from home while enjoying the surrounding countryside scenery.”â¨â¨
A recent survey of nearly 25,000 employees of IT company, IBM, showed that the company's embracing of flexible working conditions had improved the staff output. Employees could work up to 57 hours before working life started to interfere with home life while for office workers it was 38 hours
Kingswood Park is part of the new Biddenham Vale development which is bounded by the River Great Ouse in west Bedford. The complete development will also see the construction of a community hall, food and retail outlets, a crèche, multi faith centre, public library and a gym.
