A number of firms based in the US are increasingly employing staff that are willing and able to work from their own homes, according to reports.
Californian outsourcing business LiveOps has established an entirely home-based workforce that gives staff the chance to benefit from operating under more flexible circumstances.
For many people the chance to work from home can lead to a better work-life balance and LiveOps is continuing to expand its so-called virtual call centre, which relies entirely on the practice, reports the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
Parent and now LiveOps employee Kandi Genis told the news provider: "If a bottom line salary number is the most important thing to you, this may not be for you.
"If balance is most important, you can make a really fine income this way."
Figures compiled by YouGov on behalf of T-Mobile recently showed that almost half of British workers feel they could be more productive if they operated from outside their traditional office space.
