Out-of-office operating is not a passing phenomena and workers are "home to stay", it has been claimed.
Lisa Kanarek is considered to be an expert on home offices and she is keen to stress the importance of taking time out to make sure a workspace is appropriately set up for the task at hand.
Ms Kanarek is the author of Home Office Solutions: Creating a Space that Works for You and she makes clear that home-based operators should ensure that they have the right equipment to maintain their professional contacts at all times.
"The home office is no longer seen as a temporary arrangement in the corner of the living room, as workers are ‘home to stay’," she said.
"This time of year is perfect for reevaluating goals and making sure your home office is organised in a way that will increase productivity and make it both easy and pleasurable to work in."
A report form USA today suggested recently that millions of America’s so-called middle managers are missing out on the benefits of working from home.
