Many teenagers in the UK expect that by the time they enter the workplace they will be given the chance to operate from home and under more flexible circumstances, according to a recent report.
Research carried out by Logicalis suggests that British children aged 13 to 17 anticipate many of the latest technologies they use in their everyday lives to be incorporated into business operations.
And with many of these young people expressing a willingness to work overseas if they were allowed greater flexibility, the onus is on UK companies to utilise the technology available to meet the demands of the modern world, the research team concludes.
A statement from Logicalis read: "UK business leaders must be prepared to invest in information technology innovation and better manage the emergence of ‘consumer’ orientated technologies into the workplace."
"UK business must embrace new methods of collaborative and flexible working to ensure a supply of new top human talent for their workforce."
A report from SafeNet warned recently that businesses need to reassess their network security needs as the trend towards home-based working continues.
