New research has found that many people feel more productive when working at home, compared to working in an office.
The study from software company Citrix reveals that 77 per cent of workers feel they are "much more productive" when they work at home instead of in the office and 21 per cent say that they are "just as productive." Only two per cent of workers said they got less done when they were working remotely.
The survey found that 87 per cent of workers now work at home sometimes, with 52 per cent working away from the office once or twice every week and just over a quarter working remotely three days a week. When they’re working away or at home, 87 per cent use laptops and the growth of tablets was evidenced by the fact that 23 per cent now use these devices as well.
Kim Woodward, vice president of marketing for Citrix Systems, pointed out that remote working is no longer confined to typical roles such as writing, sales and programming. He said that even companies such as law firms were opening up to the idea of letting staff work from home.
