Work Wise UK has announced that the sixth annual Work From Home Day will take place this year on Friday 20 May.
The day will be part of Work Wise Week, running throughout the week commencing 16 May. It has also been confirmed that later this year, Commute Smart Week will run from 14 November to 18 November.
Each day of Work Wise Week will have a different theme linked to businesses finding mutually beneficial ways of working. As well as Work From Home Day, last year’s themed days included Smarter Travel Day, Mobile Working Day, Virtual Meeting Day and Remote Office Day.
A spokesperson for Work Wise UK said, “Work Wise Week represents an ideal opportunity to explore how you and your organisation can boost productivity and efficiency in these straightened times, by implementing smarter working practices.”
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is urging local employers to get involved in this year’s Work Wise Week. As part of its sustainability agenda, the council says it is keen to offer support to companies to help them implement more flexible working practices.
The council has said it plans to monitor the effect of staff working at home in the borough and would like to receive feedback from employers who take part in the national initiative.
